MOTION IN SPORTS
Capturing "motion" with paint is one of the most exciting ways for me to create. With my new series, "Motion in Sports", I have been able to put my "painting with emotion" into play.
After teaching painting techniques for several years. I have found how important it is to be able to relate to students the "why" of what they are doing as well as the "how". The importance of embracing the process and releasing one's self from the outcome is the key to success.
Learning to paint or create any visual art is all about learning to "see" in a whole new way. As an artist, once you acquire this "sight", it gives you a set of tools and controls that allows you to add a new level of emotion and personality, as well as, style to your work.
To create something that you personally have never seen before becomes the optimum goal as it generates excitement and leads to new discoveries within one's own mind and heart. Moving beyond the "static" image ( whether in realism or abstract art) means you can never go back and be satisfied with your work.
But then, why would you want to?
